Nice #instapost

Spontaneity in anyone's life is key. Life would just be plain old boring without it. The thrill of the unknown and opportunity for anything to happen is completely exhilarating. 

I'd been whining about not going away this summer because I'm heading back to New York in September but after catching wind of my friends travelling around Europe and were planning on staying in Nice, France for a week, I decided to spontaneously book a flight and go out and join them.

Having only been in Nice for a couple of hours, the lot of us hit the 'free champagne' party where were staying to celebrate the start of this amazing trip. Far too many flutes later we all wondered off into the city to get a taste of the local nightlife. Wayne's bar was our choice of watering hole, full of touristy bizarre objects from various cities all over the world and with a rather unique wallpaper comprised of number plates from everywhere from Manhattan to Timbuktu. Lest I forget the locals. Goodness gracious me. I don't know what it is about French guys, whether is the slightly broken English accent or the dishevelled swept back hair  but keep on eating those croissants and frogs legs guys as its seriously working for ya.

Got a big day ahead of us today. We're heading off to Nice Old Town so no doubt I'm going to get ridiculously snappy happy (follow me on Instagram @georgiabenj for updates) . And go on. Go and do something spontaneous today. Trust me, you'll love it.

Fountain

What I'm Wearing: Whistles Claudine Sweater, Gap Splatter Jeans, New Balance Custom 574's.

Yesterday, my gorgeous friend Roni & I trotted off to Somerset House to take a cheeky look at the Treasure Exhibition (got tonnes of photos and a ridiculously long list of new jewellery designers that you NEED to know about - post coming soon). Stepping off the the tube and into this glorious sunshine was certainly not expected - hence my rather winter-esque attire. But with the help of an ice coffee and a splash in the fountains, I managed to cool off. Running through the fountains at Somerset House make me feel like such a kid. It is safe to say that I do rather suffer from Peter Pan syndrome and never ever want to grow up, but the rush of not knowing when the fountains are going to go off is just so exhilarating. London in the sun is just amazing!

I'm off to Battersea Boot tomorrow after a gigantic wardrobe clear out. Hundreds of clothes, shoes and accessories will be available at absolute bargain prices, if you're around you should certainly stop by!

KENZO

The endless hours spent in the library have finally paid off, and I finally get a well deserved rest.  Guess what, it's my birthday tomorrow. Forget presents, I'm getting my dissertation bound, as a very special birthday treat. Anyway off to get some much needed beauty sleep. See you on the flipside. 

Slouch

What I'm Wearing: ASOS Coat, Zara Knitted Tee, Topshop Cardi, Dorothy Perkins Skirt & Converse High-Tops.

Ridiculously comfortable in this casual slouchy ensemble. Been feeling a bit under the weather recently, cold, flu the usual drill, this dissertation malarkey is really getting me down, but only 14 days till hand in. I feel as though I should just bring an overnight bag to the library and move in for a week till this dam thing is done. I wish I could say thank god its Friday, but sadly no good news for me as the library is open all weekend. See you tomorrow Brotherton Library. Hope you all have a great weekend (of which none of it should be spend in nor anywhere near a library). 

Black Jeans

What I'm Wearing:Vintage Hat & Tee, Gap Skimmer Jeans, New Look Neon Necklace, ASOS Gilet & Kurt Geiger Boots.

The search is over! I have finally found the perfect pair of black jeans. For guys, jeans is such a non issue, but for us girls it is literally a miracle when you find the pair that just fit, not too long, not too tight ,the perfect rise and the perfect colour. These jeans are GAP's latest edition to their almighty denim collection. The 'Jean Legging Skimmer' only have 3% elastine in them so they won't grow and grow till you can almost fit two legs in one, the perfect low rise and are actually black. I know that sounds strange but these jeans are really black. I loved my Topshop Leigh Jeans but with every wash they turned a shade lighter until they were pretty much charcoal. With the jeans being new in, GAP have them on a special promotion for only £30 absolute bargain! I need to go back and buy one in every colour. Hallelujah for GAP Jeans!

An Actual ASOS Store, SAY WHAT?!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. News just in! Our favourite online high street retailer, ASOS, are opening a retail store. That's right, an actual bricks-and-mortar store that you can physically walk into rather than clicking away from behind your computer screen.

I know, I too was a little shocked that this online emporium which has hundreds of new styles hitting the site each week could actually have a store big enough to house all the different styles. But that's just it. ASOS chooses selected styles, the creme de la creme of their collections to make this store the place of all fashion lovers dreams.

Sadly for my fellow Londoner's it is an 8hr flight to visit this store, but for you all you lucky New Yorkers, ASOS has decided to cross the pond, and set up shop at 142 Greene Street in Soho.

It's pretty much the only thing that could make ASOS even better. Just think, all those hours spent online shopping, and waiting in for your delivery, and now you can actually step foot inside the store. 

Why oh why did I ever leave that glorious city!

Black Smock

What I'm Wearing: Vintage Oversized Smock Dress, Zara Leather Shopper, Kurt Geiger Vera Boots & ASOS Keyhole Sunglasses.

Clearly in mourning today after the severe lack of sleep I managed to get last night, due to the sheer volumes of work I've got on and the ever nearing deadlines which seem to just constantly creep up on me without even realising. Thankfully my professor liked my work this morning so at least some I'm reaping some kind of reward. I wish I could have a week off just to rest, eat and lie in bed watching girlie movies, but I've just got to wait till Christmas break then I'm going to reclaim my spot on the sofa at home and just demand delicious snacks be brought to me on an hourly basis. A girl can dream. The leg o'mutton sleeve on this smocked dress reminds me of how the Tudors used to dress, with huge bouffant sleeves and gigantic pleated cuffs and ruffs to match. How fun it would be to dress like the Tudors, and eat like Henry VIII, well, just for a day? Anyway, enough dreaming. Back to work for me, the good old library is calling my name. Off to London tomorrow to go fabric shopping along Berwick Street, cannot wait!
