Back To School Cool

What I'm wearing: Topshop Cut Away Tank, Zara Maxi Skirt, Kurt Geiger Studded Clutch Bag, Forever 21 Necklace, Isabel Marant Sneakers (sold out similar here), ASOS Spike Bracelet.

Say hello to my gorgeous housemate Emma!

What Emma's wearing: Mango Shirt, Zara Jacket (sold out but you can still get them on eBay if you're lucky), Topshop Leigh Jeans, Steve Madden Studded Boots, Personalised Studded Leather Bag from ebay.

First day back at school and we have seriously hit the ground running. 5 collections, dissertation, garments, boy we do have a few tough months ahead of us. But lets face it, we always knew 4th year was going to be hard.

Studying fashion design has a sort of unwritten rule that means you cannot go to class wearing a hoodie and jeans, so every class is therefore an insight into the latest trends, with super stylist sartorialists and some down right outrageous ensembles also. But I guess, each to their own.

I absolutely love this silk maxi skirt from Zara, the way it moves and flows when you walk, makes it feel so expensive and luxurious. If I teamed it with a cashmere sweater and a string of pearls I'd feel like a part of the old english aristocracy. Pairing mine with wedged sneakers and studs gives it a cool edge, and I feel like I'm ready for anything. Some people find maxi skirts rather daunting to wear, with a fear of being too short for them or a fear of making them look too "old" or "frumpy". But that is just not the case. I feel like a little girl again in mine, having this whirly twirly skirt on, and spinning around at any opportunity makes me feel like I'm on sartorial cloud 9. If you have not already got one, its a worthy investment for you wardrobe.

We cannot forget to mention Emma's bag. Despite the fact that it should come with a warning saying "BEWARE! These spikes will penetrate skin!", the timeless shape and neat rows of studs make it a winner. And the fact that its been personalised so no one will have the same bag as you is always a big plus point in my book.

Now... bring on the books!
