Day At The Races

There are very few sports events that combine fashion, heritage and pageantry all at one of the most beautiful venues in England. Ascot racecourse really does have it all. So what better excuse to dress up in your fanciest clothes, drink copious amounts of Pimms and place guilt free bets on whatever horse has the best name. Not only a centrepiece of the British calendar but  highly anticipated date for my friends and I too.

All suited and booted, and armed with hampers full of M&S goodies, we laid out our picnic blankets in the main grandstand , setting up camp in anticipation of the days events.

Mixed fortunes ensued, but everyone managed to stay on great form especially in anticipation of the 80's disco that followed the days races. With the likes of Banarama, and Rick Astley, all the old favourites were being performed, which of course encouraged more champagne and pitchers to celebrate the days winnings (or commiserate the losses).

As always Ascot did not fail to disappoint, due to the great company, gorgeous weather and exciting equine exploits.

Already looking forward to carrying on the tradition next summer.
