Victoria's Secret Show 2012

Yes. Its that time of year again.
No. Not Christmas. That annual event where both men and women from all round the globe stop in their tracks to watch what can only be described as one of the most coveted and unadulterated events in the fashion calendar. Just a word of warning, if you having a bit of a "fat day" today we all have them, I advise you to stop reading now.

This morning us Brits woke up to social media sites flooded with footage from last nights show. Starting the infamous Victoria's Secrets Angels including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Mirander Kerr, Karlie Kloss as well as highly deserving  newcomers including  British beauties Jourdan Dunn and the lovely Cara Delevigne, held at New Yorks' Lexington Avenue Armory. The show also featured the delights of performers such as Justin Bieber & Rihanna, who was dressed in an equally as provocative corseted silk dress with lace gloves and strings of pearls - think Audrey Hepburn meets a VS Angel.

As per usual the show was divided into different parts with intricately crafted one off pieces to fit the goddess like creatures immaculately. 'Dangerous Liaisons', 'Calendar Girls', 'Pink Is Us', 'Silver Screen Angels', and 'Angels in Bloom' were the 5 themes this year with the Angels wearing everything from candy cane wings to native American headdresses.

The hundreds of thousands of dollars spent, month and months of planning all paid off with the show be an enormous success and reaching in the millions in the twitterosphere. Here are some of my highlights from the show.

Goodness knows how these women grow up to be this flawless, but I guess they don't give out wings to any old Joe.

Victoria's no longer a Secret in London

On the corner of Bond Street and Brook Street lies the most beautiful treasure of a store jam-packed full of the most luxurious lingerie imaginable. Covering over 40,000 square ft London's very own Victoria's Secret store is a huge slice of heaven only minutes walk from Oxford Circus. I had been dying to pay a visit to the black and pink wonder ever since it opened back in September earlier this year, and finally the day arrived. Walking in through the marble and glass doors, I felt as though I had reached cloud 9. Walls of the most ornately decorated perfume bottles and exquisitely designed lingerie, I just wanted to get one of everything single thing in every colour.
Dotted around the store are beautiful one-off creations as worn by the Angels in the past catwalk shows. Tutu's, wing's and ruffles galore, its definitely worth the trip just to see them. Wondering round the 4-storey lingerie emporium you notice all of the little details that makes the experience oh so special - the interior design seriously went to town on this one - even the chandeliers, adorned with little pink bows were handed crafted in Murano glass.

The well thought out layout makes the shopping experience just so simple and easy. Displays of beautiful bras on the table top, with labelled draws underneath that makes fining your size as simple as A, B, C.

In honour of the store's opening, Victoria's Secret have launched a new limited-edition fragrance, London, packed in the iconic black and pink striped packaging.

As if the store wasn't grand enough, inside is the grandest of grand spiral staircases. Made of glass prisms that pick up the colours from the 4 storey LED screen showing videos of past catwalk shows and commercials, that could make you stop and stare all day.

Down on the basement is Victoria's Secrets PINK which is a youthful and collegiate inspired collection. A fun and playful brand full of polka dots and flowers with a collection of panties emblazoned in rather suggestive slogans.

I couldn't help but pick up these limited edition pairs for Halloween.

The whole shopping experince is so well thought out, from the handsome chap opening the door for you as you enter, to the mini perfume bottles by the till and a wall of framed photos of the most beautiful women you have even seen.

I had to pick up a couple of things, well I just simply couldn't resist.

What I'm wearing: Abercrombie Shirt, River Island Knitted Sweater, Topshop Leigh Jeans, Topshop White Brogues

Brighton Beach

Today we thought we should take advantage of the 100degree heat and head to the beach. Ive been to a number of different beaches in New York (Rockaway, Long Beach, Coney Island) but today we went back to Brighton Beach, which I’d have to say is one of my favourites. Maybe its because we have a Brighton Beach in England and I feel some sort of deep subconscious pull towards it - who knows?!

We got there a little after 1pm and it was already swamped! Albeit we managed to find a sizeable plot to lay down and soak up some rays right by the waters edge.

Manhattan is such an amazing place but its always nice to have a little escape from city life. Brighton Beach feels just like a little holiday town with a cute shopping strip right by the beach front. Fruit stands and tacky beach toys galore. Couldn’t help but visit the ‘Tel Aviv Fruit Market’ to pick something up.

(the rainier cherries made me miss M&S so badly!)

Nothing like the feeling of sand between your toes.

Just a few snaps of the new Victoria's Secrets bikini that my lovely boy bought for me.
