Waterway Collection x Warby Parker

Dreaming of white beaches feeling sand between your toes, endless horizons watching the sun dip below the ocean, and sipping sangria laying out by the pool? Well the guys down at Warby Parker certainly were when designing their new Waterway Collection. Taking the brand's favourite style and adding a refreshing new summer time spin for this exclusive summer collection. 

Now summer time is one of my absolute favourite times of year, not only providing an extremely valid reason to visit every rooftop bar in the city, but also giving you every excuse to buy a new pair of sandals...every week gosh I know I have a problem. And when better to whip out your staple sunnies than in the height of summer?! Warby Parker's latest collection have taken timeless styles; Bensen, Griffin, Percey, Piper & Welty, for a quick dip and attributed shoreline shades like Sand Castle and Marine Pebble for a dash of summer time allure. 

Being both a glasses wearer and a sunglass fanatic, it is more than refreshing to see these iconic styles that all Warby Parker fans know and love and add and extra special incentive of purchase. Warby Parker's 'Do Good' programme's ethos is 'by a pair, give a pair' and works towards supporting those 703 million people who currently live without access to eyewear. Four Eyes

Glasses shopping is terrifying. 

How on earth are you meant to be able to choose one accessory that you have to wear every day for the next two years of your life. It was just so difficult.

Umming and Ahhing for what felt like hours, I tried on pretty much every frame in the entire store.

Frankly, I think there was just way too much choice. Black frames, tortoise shell frames, round frames, square frames, cat eyed frames, big frames, small frames, frameless?! All the trying on made me a bit delirious and with each new frame I ended up embodying a different character, transforming from Harry Potter to my mad aunt in a matter of moments. It all just got a bit overwhelming.

I ended up choosing these matt black beauties by Dolce & Gabbana. I absolutely love them. I feel like a huge geek when they're on, which is brilliant for when I've got to sit and work for hours on end, as they really get me in the studious mood. So all the fretting and stressing for the past week, wondering whether or not I'd made the right decision, and even considering going back into the store to check that I hadn't missed any, paid off. Winner winner chicken dinner.

My new obsession.

Adding one of these to an outfit just gives it that bit of... 'Ju Ne Sais Quoi'.

Although it poses a rather daunting question. 

"What on earth can I wear one of these with?"

The answer is so simple, as they can be worn with whatever you like. T-shirts,  crewneck sweaters, pretty dresses, shirts, blouses, throw on some neck candy for that touch of sartorial swag and you're good to go. 

The recent shows showed tonnes of styled to perfection fashionista's in their statement necklaces, captured in true street style glory. All the way from London to New York and from Milan to Paris, neck candy was a huge feature, whether worn over a simple shirt and trouser to add a dash of sophisticated chic, or layered up on clashing print look for an added touch of that 'wow' factor. 

This huge publicity for neck candy has now made them readily available all over the high street, and not just from high end designers. I've included a couple of my favourite pieces from Net-A-Porter's amazing selection, especially from J.Crew, Shourouk & Eddie Borgo, but pop into stores such as Topshop & New Look on the Great British High-Street and you could buy a full array of neck candy - maybe even one for every day of the week?
